So the Cavs are gone. Love you, cleveland. The Celtics are gone, jason Tatum ruptured his Achilles, he's going to be out for a while. That's heartbreaking for the celtics fan and a lot of people are saying this is a, this is a changing of the guard. These kinds of teams, you know, there's no lebron, there's no kevin duran, there's no yokich. We've got oklahoma city with sga, we've got the minnesota timberwolves with anthony edwards the-Man, we have the Indiana Pacers with Tyrese, halliburton, yep and the New York Knicks with Jalen Brunson.

Their last appearance in the NBA Finals was 1999. Okay, so I think that was what I was referring to. They haven't made it to the Eastern Conference Finals since 2000, so that must be so. What they're saying is it's been 25 years since they've been in the Eastern Conference Finals, which they are in with Indiana.

This is listen when you follow baseball or any sports really reported when they start talking about big questions facing the world, it is. Should Pete Rose be in the Hall of Fame? When he died months ago. We wept, did we? But we also discussed whether or not he should have been in the Hall of Fame. And what did I say? I have no idea. Okay, yeah. So they just came out. What did I say? I have no idea.

I said I probably said I don't know, I struggle with this one. Yeah, but they just came out, the commissioner just came and said, given that he's dead, he got quote unquote a lifetime ban and he can't do anything there at baseball. Yeah, that's fair, he can be voted on, okay, okay. So here's the question he broke the number one rule. He bet on baseball, yes. So I think today I'm tending to think he should be going. I mean, he's one of the best players who's ever played. All of his that they were aware of the rules that he broke. He broke them while he was the manager, not while he was playing, although one year he was a manager. Okay, while he was the manager. Not while he was playing, although one year he was a manager. So I think he should probably go in to the Hall of Fame with a stipulation on his little plaque that said he broke the number one rule of baseball.

it was what you just said People who've had a lifetime ban when they are dead no longer have the lifetime ban, and now he's leaving it back to the peoples who vote on such things. So he didn't he didn't see they can't be right, they could say. They could say no, we don't want to do it. But what he the? The new statement is if you have a lifetime ban and you die, then people can make decisions. I guess now the big question is what if you are baptized?

I believe Not, as a player, correct, but the guys who used steroids that impacted their statistics. So I think, in some ways, if you use steroids, that should be Well first off. They've not been voted in and they may never be, but those guys in some ways granted, it's weird, he broke the number one rule and that is betting on baseball, but the guys that actually use steroids, who so far have not been voted into the Hall of Fame.

Scandal. Yeah, yeah, it brings in the integrity of the game, you would think actually a bigger rule in baseball would be don't roid up.

Yeah, obviously, okay, I guess that would be the number one rule in baseball. Yeah, and that's cheating, don't cheat, right, right, but cheating is also doing PEDs, and now that everything's legal, it's just so weird about the betting stuff.

Isn't it, it is, it is. It really begs the whole question. Everybody's betting. You can't bet on your own teams. You can't bet on baseball. Mlb's telling everybody to go and bet. They're playing in stadiums sponsored by betting companies. The whole thing's kind of weird, but for the integrity of the game it has to be that way. You can't have them betting on their own team or not betting on their own team. That's what somebody said. It's like well, pete Rose bet on his own team, but he didn't do it every night. Well, exactly, exactly the nights that he didn't, right? So the whole thing was interesting. Okay, real quick, we need to get sister Mary back. Oh, I do want to say one last thing about baseball. Why don't you just ask me a question about what I think about PEDs?

Well, that's one of the arguments some people make is during that era everybody was juicing. So it's not like only Barry Ponds, the guys who were pitching. I just say let them juice, let them juice baby, the more the merrier. I mean like let's 200 home runs in a season.

Okay, let me just ask how much you? What is a good season for home runs? Like? What would be a number, this many home runs per season? What do you think a really good season is For a person? Yeah, like Aaron Judge, what do you think he's going to get this year? Didn't he get like 60? Okay, yeah, you're in the ballpark. I was just wondering if you had any idea what a good season is 500. Oh, yeah, that's 495 home runs.

The Kentucky Derby was won by Secretary huh. No, sovereignty, sovereignty. Preakness was won by Johnny Journalism. Right, all right. And the two of them did not race in the Preakness, so they're going to go head-to-head in Belmont.

Yes, thunderbolts thunderbolts, which was great. Yeah, it was a great movie, it's a new marvel movie. Uh, it feels like old school Marvel in a happy way, like just great ensemble characters, really good action. It had a guy named.

What was that whole thing at the very end with the four? Oh, I'm so glad you stuck around and said it. So this summer I'm not a rookie, I know, but that's a fantastic four.

we just live in one verse. This summer we have the fantastic four. It's called First Steps. It's really cool looking, it's like a retro, futuristic thing. So that's happening in its own little different universe world of things. Well, by seeing at the end of Thunderbolts, there's this anomaly going on and they look in the thing and it's the Fantastic Four spaceship. It means that the Fantastic Four are coming into our universe or whatever universe you think so like two worlds collide rather than nations.

Exactly, I don't like multiverse. Let's just live in the verse. We don't need a multiverse. You want to drive revelations? Exactly, I don't like multiverse. I know you don't. So, first off, I don't know that we've ever talked. Not my first job, but one of my first jobs was working in a movie theater. Oh, working in the movie theater. Oh, really, I got fired. Oh, wow, I didn't get fired. Okay, but they didn't give us real clear. They said we could let friends in free. Oh, occasionally, okay, but isn't that what?

The one that I probably think of when I think of a summer blockbuster would be ET. Oh, I remember that we had to sit in the front row. Yeah, it was awful. So that was just such a great classic.

We have moms and dads Mostly moms, let's be honest. You listen right. Well, the dads have stopped listening, that's right. Another one of those sorts. Is there a movie out for kids?

I just wonder, like why are we doing this? But then people go see them, so that's exactly why they do them. The Smurfs have a new movie coming out.

Okay, so I would say there's not like like a ton of super exciting things that are that are coming up by far mission impossible. It's going to be the big movie this summer well, right.

Well, let me throw out some other things that might rock that boat or friend. So I think mission impossible definitely will be up there. I think the fantastic four movie has a very good shot. So something we did at Franciscan, a number of years ago is. We created a free resource called Discipleship Quants. It is a group of four people that you know, meet together once a week.

We created a guidebook. That is the driving force of it. It's scripture, it's catechism. What's fun about it is, at the end of that year, you stop and you start other small groups and I'm going to stop the music, okay, um, and you start other small groups and the idea is it's a growth model small group thing, which has been bonkers fantastic Like. We created it a couple years ago and then we started having some changes in the university and the project got dropped. Really, and as I would travel around, I started meeting more and more people that had done it and started it, and so we've reinvested in it, which is super cool.
