Artist Carl G. Fougerousse graduated from Franciscan University of Steubenville with his bachelor’s in philosophy then earned his MFA specializing in figurative painting at the New York Academy of Art. Noted for the sacred art he has created for parishes and dioceses across the United States, Carl now teaches art history and painting with Franciscan’s study abroad program in Gaming, Austria, while continuing to take on painting and sculpture commissions through his workshop, Red Fern Art Studio.

He founded Red Fern Studio in 1998 to execute ecclesiastical works steeped in the tradition of Catholic figurative and decorative art. The studio designs and produces stained glass, mosaics, murals, sculptures, and building designs and has completed projects for churches, health care facilities, universities, restaurants, and private residences throughout the United States and Europe. His alma mater is proud to have six of his stained glass windows gracing the newly renovated Christ the King Chapel at Franciscan University.

On Faith and Reason, Carl is the co-host on Height and Light in the House of God.
